Essays.Ph and I

My relationship with Essays.Ph is one hell of a crazy ride.

I first joined Essays.Ph a couple months back. I once worked for the SEO Copywriting Industry so I thought it would be easy for me to go and write all those articles that needed SEO stuff in them. Boy oh boy, I was so wrong.

You see, once you write SEO related articles, you have to make sure that there's no fluff. You have to make sure that your content is done well. You have to put in those keywords but not make it look like it's done unprofessionally and and all for the sake of advertising. The thing is, writing five articles containing 500 words each of SEO things kind of drags me down. It's so hard dealing with revisions. But the thing is, right now, this is my full-time job. So, I thought, dang, what do I do? How can I make money without feeling like I'm not being able to deliver well? It was such a dilemma of mine until I figured I could write other articles for the website such as EBooks!

I was so delighted when I realized I could work on Ebooks instead of Keyword articles. You see, I kind of get bored easily. I always, always need some drive and motivation. I always need to feel like I'm able to create something good. By writing Ebooks for Essays.Ph, I realized that I could. I realized that I could fell fulfilled and like, I'm able to write articles that I like. Sure, there's some topics and guidelines to adhere to, but I like writing Ebooks because I get to learn more about what's going on in the world right now and I get to learn more about certain topics. It's also a good practice for me to enhance my skills and to do more research. See, that was one of my problems with those SEO articles before--I didn't research much. Now, with these Ebooks, I make sure that all my content is well-researched and that I write with more heart.

I also realized that this job is not a joke. Not that I ever thought it was, but some people might think that just because you're not working in an office environment or just because you're a freelancer does it mean that you're allowed to slack off and to just submit any articles and all that stuff. No, it is a job, a real one, and I'm proud of it. It's a real job with real pay and sure, not every day is a good day, but when you're able to finish an article, when you feel that your efforts have paid off, trust me, you'd feel every bit as fulfilled as you should be. Sure, it's the road less traveled but it's so worth it.

Recently, I've also started asking friends to join the site--especially those creative, witty friends of mine (I'm such a promoter! Haha!). Plus, after the Manila International Book Fair next week, I'll start saving up for some future travels. Yep, I decided to finally go out there and see some new places. It's been too long since my last trip--it's time to make new memories and learn more about myself and the world.

Essays.Ph and I may have started out on the wrong foot. But thank God I gave it a shot and didn't give up. I can't see myself working for another industry since Writing is my first love so aside from working on my short stories and novels, it's working for Essays.Ph that keeps me going.

Happy Anniversary EPh! This may be a little late, but still...

Write on! :)
