Cass and Jin Eats: Cheezy Bacon Mushroom + Ultimate Burger Steak

Cheezy Bacon Mushroom Box (tee-hee) P165 with Fries and Coke

Hello you guys. Just a quick update. So, yesterday, I was pretty happy because my favorite Cheezy Bacon Mushroom is back and in Champ form! yay! and okay, okay, I should've taken a picture but I was so excited that I ate it right away and I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't want to see my clumsily half-eaten burger so might as well just take a photo of the box. Anyway, if you don't know what I'm talking about, here's a photo from Jolibee:

It's P120 ala carte, and P165 with Fries and drinks. Add P95 and you get to have a 1GB Thor Collectible Flash disk!

I really loved how nice the fact that the bacon was not too salty and that it blended well with the cheese. Plus, the mushrooms were perfection. What can I say? This comfort food is perfection.

Anyway, my guy tried Jolibee's Ultimate Burger Meal and it's here:

Ultimate Burger Meal. P119 with free Coke Go Large!

At P119, you get good value for your money because it comes with rice, fries an egg and you can even upsize your drink for free! Truly one yum-yum experience! <3

Cass and Jin Eats: Merienda--Marikina Style

Just a mini-update. After some walking and a little kikay shopping yesterday, we walked around San Roque, Marikina (which I tell you is a fun, relaxing thing to do) and decided to drop by Macky's Goto--one of the oldest and most popular restaurants in Marikina and decided to have some Halo-Halo to beat the heat.
Halo-Halo from Macky's Goto (P30)

The Halo-Halo is pretty much a minimalist Halo-Halo that consists of a lot of beans--mongo, chick peas or Garbanzos, and some White Beans (not too sure what they're called). Plus, some strips of Buco. The milk is good and sweet--yep, it's sugary, but it's not overpowering. The Leche Flan is not too sweet, though. And then of course there's the Halayang Ube. There's supposed to be some Bananas here but they ran out of stock that afternoon. Over-all, it's not as tasty as other halo-halos but if you're the type who likes minimalist Halo-Halos then you should try this one. It also comes in this tall glass so you know you're getting a lot--and the ice is well-crushed so you wouldn't have any problems with them disrupting your halo-halo moment.

Aside from that, we bought one of those Putong Pulo packs from one of the stores near Our Lady of the Abandoned Church.

This only costs P50.

I think you'll enjoy the fact that the Puto is not your usual Puto that's too gelatinous and ricey. (Ricey? Lol) Plus, the cheese is really, really, really good. Did I say really good? Yes. You can visit those stores near Our Lady of the Abandoned Church and Earth Japan Surplus in JP Rizal Street, Marikina. You won't regret it, I promise.

So yeah, toodles! :)

Cass and Jin Eats: Some Belgian, Some Japanese and Some Pinoy

So, yesterday we went malling (which is a big stress reliever) and we went food-tripping (another stress reliever!)

Strawberry Creamcheese Belgian Waffle (P55) from Famous Belgian Waffles. Like them on Facebook
First thing we tried were the Strawberry Creamcheesee and Blueberry Creamcheese from Famous Belgian Waffles. I like the set-up of their cafe/stall, although it's kind of small, but the whole wood-paneling and fence design worked, I think. As for the waffles, they're great! I got the Strawberry Cheesecake Waffle for only P55. I love how the strawberries and the cheese mixed together and would've had more if only I wasn't too lactose-intolerant (boo). The Blueberry Creamcheese waffle is only P45, and it was good, too. Minimalist and simple but good. Plus, the smell of all the waffles are just soooooo tempting. They also have a wide variety of flavors so I think you definitely should check them out.

Next, we went to this stall called California Maki. You can visit their Facebook Page HERE.

Gyoza (P25) and Philly Maki(P35) from California Maki. Caramel Ice Cream (P25) from Mcdonalds.
If you're looking for some affordable Japanese street food, then better head on over to California Maki now. The Gyoza (steamed Gyoza) is pretty nice, not too doughy, not too shabby and the taste of the fish/shrimp are really evident. The Philly Maki with garlic sauce is pretty good, too. And then of course, there's my favorite Caramel Ice Cream from Mcdonalds. Cheap thrill, yes.

Lastly, we took home my favorite Fresh Lumpia from Goldilocks.

Lumpiang Ubod/Fresh Lumpia (P60) from Goldilocks. Check them out HERE.

Ah, I've always loved Goldilocks' Fresh Lumpia. It's really fresh and you can definitely tell that from the crunch of the vegetables and the tofu. Plus, there's some meat inside too which makes it such a delectable dish. Their sauce also never fails. You'd definitely want more.

Cass and Jin Eats: Fish, Fries and then some.

Hello you guys. So. My guy and I kind of have this new project or adventure or whatever you call it. Well, we basically love to eat. And he loves to cook--not only to save his life, but he really can. And I can't (haha), well, except for some desserts or salads maybe but otherwise, ugh.

Anyway, we bought Spot.Ph's "The best of Everything Food Lists" book and decided that maybe we should try whatever's in there. It's a good way to bond and of course, a good way to keep our stomachs filled. hihi. While we already tried some of the stuff there, we didn't take pictures before (sayang) so, we'll just do it again whenever we can. And we started it yesterday!

Based on Spot's "BEST DAING NA BANGUS IN MANILA", and because we saw a Jolibee branch near the area, and because I was craving for Fries, we decided to go on and eat.

Bangus with Garlic Sauce (P89.00 with drinks), the large fries are P59.00 :))

Jolibee's Bangus ranks number 4 on the list. What can I say? It's been too long since I ate this again and I have to say that the sauce is pretty good. Tangy and a bit salty, which isn't my taste, but it has this good kick which makes it good. The fish is well-cooked, and I rarely eat fish skin so I didn't(haha), but otherwise the meat was well done and good to eat even without the rice. (I'm just not a big fan of rice). The tomato is bitin, though. There should've been more tomatoes...

Anyway, speaking of my guy's cooking, he cooked up some Chicken burgers last night.

Chicken Burger with  Basil and Gravy

I like how Basil always enhances everything <3 Nice, soft meat though.

Oh, and then there's this:

Goya Quadros. I was in Pinoy food mode yesterday! Well, when I saw this, I was like, ugh, that won't probably taste good. Or at least, not as good as it did. Because you know what? It did taste good. Dark chocolatey good. Plus, it won't burn a hole in your pocket. For only P8.50, this dessert is a steal!

So yeah, that's all for now. We'll see where our stomachs lead us to soon.:)
